Here’s a Serenity Prayer free PDF printable to help us calm down when the going gets tough!
Hello Mamas, hope all is well! Thank God, I’ve been home for a week now from my 2-week hospital stay (I’ll share it in another post)!
But I just want to share with you the serenity prayer printable that I made. It comes with coloring pages, too, in the hope that it will remind you that there is hope when the going gets tough!
History of the Serenity Prayer
According to Wikipedia, the serenity prayer was originally written by the German-American theologian Reinhold Niebuhr in 1932-1933. The prayer was adopted and popularized by Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), an international organization dedicated to abstinence-based recovery from alcoholism.
Serenity Prayer Long Version
GOD, grant me the Serenity
to accept the things I cannot change.
Courage to change the things I can,
And Wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time,
Enjoying one moment at a time,
Accepting hardship as the pathway to peace.
Taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is,
Not as I would have it.
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His will.
That I may be reasonably happy in this life,
And supremely happy with Him forever in the next.
Amen.

I also made 3 different designs of the free printable serenity prayer coloring pages for those who want to unwind and de-stress by coloring. You can print more copies, so your kids can color with you, too.

How To Use the Free Serenity Prayer Printables
You can use the free PDF in different ways. You can print the chosen design and put it on a frame to display in your home. Or you can also print one to add to your collection of prayers (I have mine in a separate binder only for prayers and spiritual printables).
The serenity prayer coloring pages are designed with adults in mind. However, I believe older kids can also use it. You can definitely use them for relaxation or de-stressing during your free time or to entertain your kids when they get bored at home.
